Delaying the request for an online review for any e-commerce brand can be beneficial because it allows customers to thoroughly use and experience the product before sharing their feedback. This approach ensures that reviews are more informed and reflective of the product's true performance and quality over time. Here's why you can consider delaying the request for an online review:

  1. Customers who have had adequate time to use the product can provide detailed, genuine reviews. This leads to more reliable and useful feedback for potential buyers.
  2. Immediate requests for reviews might catch customers before they've fully explored the product, potentially leading to premature and possibly negative reviews due to initial misunderstandings or unfamiliarity with the product.
  3. Allowing time for customers to use the product can result in more comprehensive feedback, helping the company identify areas for improvement based on real user experiences.

Here are the steps to set up a time delay for your GetReviews survey.

Set up a time delay for your GetReviews survey

Step 1: Accessing your GetReviews Dashboard

  • Log in to your GetReviews account.
  • Navigate to the "Surveys" tab on your dashboard.

Step 2: Selecting the Survey to Customize

  • Choose the survey you want to customize from the list of active surveys.
  • Click on the Edit icon to open its settings.

Step 3: Go to Additional Survey Settings

  • Scroll down until you reach Additional Survey Settings. Click the drop down menu and find "Time Delay."

Step 4: Customize your Time Delay

  • Time delay is the number of days past purchase date that you would like the customer to wait before they can participate in your GetReviews survey. Customers who attempt to leave a review before their time limit is reached will be alerted to come back in the number of days left before their time limit is reached.
  • If for example, you place the value of 3, then customers will be able to fill out the survey once they have tried the product for at least 3 days. This is how your survey will look like to the customer.
  • If the customer selects "No" they will see the following message.

By ensuring customers have ample time to use the product, companies can gather more thoughtful and representative reviews that better inform future customers and contribute to continuous product improvement.
